Linda has been involved in dog
agility since its beginnings in the
Northeast in 1990. She has
successfully competed in USDAA,
NADAC, AKC and CPE agility.
She and her toy poodle, "Napoleon",
qualified for the USDAA National
Finals in 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998.
"Napoleon" was named as one of the
top ten agility dogs in the US in 1996.
Linda has studied with the following
top-ranked agility trainers and
competitors: Bud Houston, Linda
Mecklenburg, Barb DeMascio, Julie
Daniels, Elicia Calhoun and Anne
Smith.
She has experience training many
different breeds: large dogs, small
dogs, puppies and adults. Her
training utilizes positive motivation
(toys and treats) and some clicker
training.
Linda is an active member of the
Kennel Club of Palm Springs as well
as the Ups N' Downs Agility Club of
Southern California. She lives with
her 3 poodles in Rancho Mirage, CA.
Lea has been teaching dog
obedience in the Coachella Valley
for 28 years. Her training program
is based on "Mutual Respect
Conditioning". Her motivation to
teach comes from her desire to
prevent unwanted behavior and to
help dogs obtain social skills for
living in any environment.
Prior to teaching obedience, Lea
spent 10 years helping dogs find
new homes. These dogs required
training and confidence building in
order to be placed. In addition,
she apprenticed with a reputable
trainer for 3 years. She has 6 years
experience with the County Sheriff
Department's Search and Rescue
Division. She and her
specialty-trained dog "Montana"
are certified and dedicated to
assisting in the search for missing
persons.
Lea believes that doing agility
allows you to build a solid bond
with your dog. Working together
in agility provides exercise, mental
stimulation and is just great fun for
you and your pet.
Lea is a member of the
Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
